This summer's must-have for anyone who wants to go barefoot no matter where you are!

Skinners started in Norway!

Skinners was born in the summer of 2014 in Norway, where law student Petr Procházka was working during the summer. He and a friend took the opportunity to hike in the wild nature of Norway, but the friend's feet hurt so much from his shoes that he eventually decided to take them off and continue hiking in just his socks.

Petr then took out the sewing kit his mother had sent him and sewed a makeshift sole onto the sock. The first prototype of the sock shoes was a fact.

Back in the Czech Republic, Petr developed the idea further. He never returned to law school, but instead started Skinners with the help of his friend Míša and an incredibly successful crowdfarming campaign. It was a success, everyone loved the tights!

After that success, Skinners took the next step and created their own collection of barefoot shoes with an elegant Scandinavian design.

Skinner's socks are still made in Třebíč, Czech Republic, where the team has full control over production and quality. The shoes are manufactured in Portugal, which is known for its shoemaking.

Nowadays there are countless copies on the market, but the highest quality original will always come from Skinners.
