BAAK | Pan safety shoe S1PS | Ultralight safety shoe

Light enough to forget, strong enough for the job

You've tried lightweight work shoes before. But they either lacked proper protection or felt cheap and flimsy. BAAK Pan is different – this is a real safety shoe that happens to weigh less than a pair of everyday sneakers.

BAAK Pan is the first ultra-light barefoot safety shoe according to EN ISO 20345:2024 S1PS. It combines minimalist weight with complete protection – aluminum toe cap, textile penetration protection (BAAK NeoShield) made of 100% recycled material, and oil-resistant rubber soles.

Protection class: S1PS FO HRO SR ESD

Materials for active work

The upper is made of water-repellent textile with 40% recycled content. Strategically placed ventilation zones and TPU reinforcements provide both breathability and durability where needed. The inner lining is a breathable sandwich material with 65% recycled content and additional ventilation zones.

Under the foot is a thin EVA midsole with rubber outsoles that provide grip without isolating from the ground. For safety work, there is certified slip resistance (SR), fuel oil resistance (FO), contact heat resistance up to 300°C (HRO), and ESD protection against electrostatic discharges.

The BAAK NeoShield penetration protection is 50% lighter than steel soles but softer and more flexible. You are protected from nails and sharp objects without the sole becoming stiff, which activates the over 20 foot muscles that otherwise atrophy in conventional work shoes.

Proven technology from a German craft company

BAAK was founded in 1992 in Straelen, Germany. For over three decades, the company has combined physiological foot function with certified safety. Pan represents the next generation of barefoot safety footwear – ultra-lightweight but fully certified according to the new 2024 ISO standard.

The shoe is already used by professionals in warehouses, logistics, light industry and service jobs where mobility is important. Testers report that it feels more like a running shoe than a safety shoe.

A daily life without weight

In six months you'll notice the difference – your legs feel less tired in the evening, your feet stronger, your back less tense. Harvard researchers have documented a 57.4% increase in foot strength after six months of barefoot shoes. Other studies show a 58.3% reduction in plantar fasciitis pain after twelve weeks.

The aluminum toe cap covers the natural width of the toes without squeezing them together. The zero drop sole keeps the body in a neutral position and reduces stress on the knees, hips and lower back. This is the shoe for those who move a lot at work.
